Another month of Series to get ready for Summer Reading
Every few months, I get into a frenzy of reading series. Usually it is a month like February or April when I really need easy picks and to not think too much about what comes next. So, April flew by with a lot of reads, most of them coming in these three series.
Maggie Adair- The School by the Sea
Campus Novels – Romance – Teenage Drama
If you like campus novels, you will love this series set in a boarding school on the Cornish coast. Maggie comes from a hard school system in Glasgow to teach the privileged ladies of Downey House. She struggles to balance the world she left in Scotland and her new life. There is no shortage of drama in a castle full of teenage girls, but it doesn’t help that there is a boy’s school just up the way with a handsome teacher. This series will fly by and is a perfect beach read.
The Mitford Series
Peaceful – Ensemble Cast – Ideallic
This series is an oldy but a goody. Almost anyone can enjoy these quiet stories about Father Tim and the residents of Mitford, North Carolina. The small town holds more secrets than you might think, but just enough to make the stories entertaining while still being sweet and peaceful. If you like non stop action and adventure, these may not be for you, but if you like lovable characters set in a town that is a character itself, you will love Jan Karon’s Mitford series.
The Seven Sisters Series
Family Saga – Beach Small Town – Romance
The Seven Sisters is an accidental discovery that has now made its rounds through the women in my family. Set on Amelia Island, the Wingate Family owns and occupies most of the town. The seven daughters of Rex Wingate are all very different and each one of the books in the series focuses on one of the seven, while weaving in stories of all of the other ones. These are perfect for your beach bag and sharing with the women in your family. They are easy to read and full of hope and family. I even finished one in a day!
