Like all the others in the series, Heart of Barkness is told from the point of view of Chet, a hundred plus pounder from the nation within (that is what Chet calls dogs). If you haven’t read any of the Chet and Bernie series and you love dogs, you can check out the whole series here.
Heart of Darkness takes us into the checkered history of Lotty Pilgrim, an aging country singer, who once had a #1 single that she refuses to sing anymore. When her boyfriend is found dead in her bed, Bernie and Chet join in the investigation to prove that she didn’t do it. Chet is the best and the series always offers up some fun characters.
