I couldn’t resist this novel set in Seaview, Rhode Island in the late 30s. Spending time in Newport has been a favorite vacation of mine. Throw in a hurricane and this book was made for me.
Another aspect of this book that was right in my wheel house was that it flashes between two different points in time. We follow sweethearts Lily and Nick from when they first meet at a Dartmouth football game to a summer years later when Nick is married to Lily’s friend Budgie.
I love reading about two time periods and then finding out what happened in between. And don’t forget the hurricane! This one is a page turner!
