I don’t know if you have ever watched the British TV Show Shetland, but reading The Five Red Herrings was a lot like watching that, which is a good thing.
The setting is a small town in Scotland where everyone knows everyone elses business. When a local painter is found dead near his canvas, there are more suspects than sheep.
The characters are charming and the mystery is tougher to solve than your typical cozy mystery. It is still a light and fun read.
